Oct. 1st Day Two (Gatlinburg to Ashville)

After a great night’s rest you will be waking up to the fog rising from the Smoky Mountains. We hope you will be energized and ready for day two! The first stretch of day will take you past charming farms with old barns and vegetable patches complete with scarecrows through Newport. Our second and longest leg continues to wind through some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country. Alternating between cozy tree-lined streets and wide-open fields there is no shortage of warn red barns and friendly farmers. Shortly after crossing into North Carolina, Lookout Loop offers a rest stop with a view overlooking miles of open valleys. Be sure to write your name on the index cards provided to make your stop known! As you continue peddling through Pisgah National Forrest enjoy the challenge of slight hills and hair-pin curves. Just up the road, St. Jude’s Chapel of Hope presents a cozy stopping point for you to eat lunch and soak up your surroundings. The rest of the day will be spent bound for gorgeous Ashville, North Carolina.
